"Jasmine"

Jasmine is wearing the white scarf that says

"Queen of Everything"

It took Jasmine several months to fully recover from the effects of the Deramaxx. She had lost over 10% of her body weight and that's a lot for a 60 pound dog. She had lost the sparkle in her eyes and was always tired.

Previous to taking this drug, Jasmine was always a happy, energy filled, fun loving girl.. Jasmine will never be taking any kind of drugs again. She is now totally under the care of a Holistic Veterinarian, who has been her primary vet for over 3 years. The Deramaxx was given by a local regular vet (that I use for my other dogs) for swelling in her front leg.

The vet told me the drug was very safe (and later didn't agree with me when I told her what happened to Jasmine as a result of her taking this drug). This occurred on a Friday evening when the Holistic vet was out of town. The Holistic vet told me he NEVER would have given that drug to Jasmine or any other pet. He felt it was too dangerous.

Jasmine has severe Contact and Environmental allergies and traditional medicine (Allergy shots, Staphage Lysate shots, Prednisone, antibiotics, etc.) failed to control them. Over a 3 year period with a Vet Dermatologist, she made slight improvements, then lost them. When the Dermatologist told me Jasmine would have to stay on Prednisone every day for the rest of her life, I said No and went to see a highly recommended Holistic Vet. That was a little over three years ago.

This vet has been wonderful. He slowly weaned Jasmine off of all the drugs and shots. Jasmine's treatments for her allergies are all natural now. She gets acupuncture, herbs and homeopathic remedies. Jasmine has the best coat she has ever had in her life. She is no longer itching, scratching and biting herself raw and bloody.
She is living her life to the fullest!

General information: Jasmine is an 8 year old, Longhaired Weimaraner. There is no history of drug reactions in her family or any major health problems. I have been friends with her breeder for over 30 years and I know all of her dogs, including Jasmine's parents, grandparents and one of her great grandparents. Jasmine is a dog that loves life. She is ready to go and do whatever you want to do.

Jasmine has International and Mexican Championships. She has her CGC (Canine Good Citizen award). Jasmine is highly skilled in obedience and agility (although we don't compete). Jasmine, as well as my 2 other Longhair Weims, do a lot of Public Education. They spent 2 days in the Weimaraner booth at the Pet Expo last month being petted and hugged. They have worked with handicapped children (many years ago) and have been in parades. Next month we will be part of a seminar for visiting Japanese college students. Jasmine (and Kahlua) will be running the agility course. Jasmine assists at obedience classes. When an owner has a problem grasping a concept that is being taught, we give the person Jasmine to work with, so they can understand what to do and get a feeling for what the end result should feel like.

Since Jasmine almost died from being given the drug Duramaxx last October, I have heard of 6 more cases of dogs becoming violently ill after a couple of doses of Duramaxx. The local emergency hospital treated 4 of those dogs. Two additional dogs have died! The local vet that gave Jasmine the drug no longer uses it because 3 additional dogs she gave it to became violently ill, like Jasmine. They barely pulled through. Yet, Duramaxx is still out there!!!

How many dogs died from it that weren't reported because the vet or owner didn't make the connection? How many dogs have to die from it before the manufacturer or the FDA takes real action. In my opinion, it is unacceptable to keep something on the market that can cause death!

As you can probably tell, I love Jasmine to pieces and would do anything in the world for her and my other 2 Weimaraners.
